DESCRIPTION:Building Community in Clay will meet this Sunday\, January 5th\, 4pm at Corner Coffee Shop\, 66 Church Street in Hayesville.  We’ve had two meetings post election\, finding our footing and making plans for the future. \n\nHow do we support one another as we brace for the changes of the upcoming administration?  \nWhat actions do we take to help minimize the damage from policy shifts expected (and promised)?  \nWhat can we as a caring community do to help those here in Clay who may be most impacted by these new policies?   \n\nWe are a work in progress.  Please come join us at the table for discussion\, plans for action in the next few weeks\, and possibly a video to inspire us. \nFeel free to bring a personal snack and/or drink\, or finger foods if you wish to share. \nNOTE: Although Building Community is a local event addressing issues originating from our community members\, we have an affiliation with the national group\, Indivisible due to the overlap of common goals.  We believe we can learn\, grow\, and share more effectively with this affiliation.

While this energy has been crucial\, it has also pulled attention away from strengthening our local Democratic Party—and we need to extend our focus. \nAs we prepare for the next election cycle\, Clay County’s Democratic Party must get organized. We urgently need to fill key leadership positions\, including chair\, secretary\, and treasurer\, as well as address vacancies at the precinct level. \nThis is a unique opportunity to hear directly from Anderson Clayton and Dorian Palmer\, who are eager to share their insights and help us strengthen our local Democratic Party. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
