Building Community

August 4 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EDT

Join us Sunday, August 4th at 4:00 PM at the Corner Coffee Shop for this interactive “Building Community” event.  There is a lot to talk about with all that’s been happening.  The key topic for this meeting will be learning about Project 2025 and a video on the subject will be presented and discussed.

Project 2025: Understanding it is Essential
Project 2025 is the Conservative plan for the next Republican President to implement, presumably Donald Trump in 2025, if elected.   If you are already familiar with Project 2025, then you are aware of the sweeping changes the plan calls for which will make our country unrecognizable in the future.  If this is relatively new to you, then here is your chance to understand what is really at stake in this election and why it is critical that you show up and vote Democratic in November.  Project 2025…

  • Takes Away Reproductive Freedom Nationwide
  • Seeks retribution on political opponents and places restrictions on critical media outlets.
  • Terminates the Constitution
  • Centralizes power under Executive branch (Presidential power & loyalty rule, checks and balances are gutted).
  • Dismantles or weakens Democratic institutions such as Dept. of Justice and the FBI to remove oversight on Executive power.
  • Promotes conservative values by rolling back rights for LGBTQ+ community, push strong anti-abortion policies, and integrate Christian Nationalism in government policy.
  • Environmental and Climate Policy efforts will be scrapped in favor of Business interests.
  • Gives Handouts to the Ultra Wealthy Paid for by Working Families
  • And much more

Please follow this link and take the time to understand the potential impact of Project 2025 and why it is imperative to vote Dem in November.

Building Community is an event where we are coming together to create a secure space to talk about our most pressing concerns about this election season and to develop ways to address them.  Michelle Maloney guides us in this moderator-led collaborative community planning event aims to amplify community voices and generate innovative avenues forward.  Our objectives include identifying actionable ideas that we can pursue throughout the evolving election season.

If you are so inclined you may bring a light refreshment, juice, or wine to share! Also, a one dollar donation would be appreciated toward the venue expense.  Bring a pen!
