Clay County Democratic Party Monthly Meeting

IMPORTANT NOTE:  This month we will start meeting on the third Tuesday (instead of 4th) and at our new location at the United Community Bank community room and meeting start time is 5:30 PM. 

All Clay County voters are invited to attend our monthly meeting at the United Community Bank community room in Hayesville.  This is a new venue for meetings and we plan to continue meeting here for future meetings as well.   We are also introducing a new meeting format this month where we will have a half hour to socialize at the beginning of the meeting which now starts at 5:30PM.  Social time will end and our guest speaker will start promptly at 6:00 PM.  Finally, the business meeting will start at the conclusion of our guest speaker’s presentation, typically around 6:30 PM and runs about a half an hour.   The business portion of the meeting is open for all to attend, and any Clay County registered democrats may vote in business meeting motions if they wish.

This month, we’ll focus on shaping our strategic plan for the next election cycle. We’ll start by reviewing the goals from our 2022 plan and identifying which still apply, which need updating, and what new priorities should be added. Here are the 2022 goals for your consideration:

1. Increase our volunteer network in advance of the Midterm Primary Election
2. Create & maintain a strong community presence through the Midterm General Election
3. Generate more awareness of Democratic values & facilitate conversations focused on local issues
4. Make Clay County party communications more consistent and engaging
5. Keep the Clay County community informed of our activities and events
6. Raise money to support the work and activities through the Midterm General Election
7. Recruit Democratic candidates to run for local office
8. Secure more votes from unaffiliated voters
9. Ensure smooth transition of county party leadership from election cycle to election cycle
